Wycombe   0 - 4   Peterborough

Peterborough reached the second round of the Carling Cup after a comfortable win over League One side Wycombe.

Posh striker Aaron McLean put the Championship outfit ahead when he drilled home from a tight angle.

Tommy Rowe fired into the bottom-left corner to make it 2-0 and midfielder George Boyd added a third in the second half with a blistering 25-yard shot.

Midfielder Lee Frecklington made sure of victory with a goal from close range after good work by Shaun Batt.

Wycombe manager Peter Taylor told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"I don't think the score flattered them, they are a very good team and some of their play was superb.

"I was annoyed by our defending for the first goal as it was a basic set-piece. If we do not clear that up we will be conceding a lot of goals this season.

"We have no complaints about the result and we just have to pick things up and move on."
