Switzerland ended the Central European Development ODI Tournament in Prague (15th-17th June 2018) unbeaten, winning all three matches.

Switzerland top the table with three wins from three to win the tournament outright after defeating Luxembourg by 8 wkts on the final day of the tournament.

Day One

Switzerland 238ao in 45.4 overs (A Mahmmod 46, A Hassan 48, S Safiat 33, A Sikander 25, S Franklin 28) beat Czech Lions 181ao in 41.2 overs (Faheem 10.0-0-52-4, Stefan 8.2-2-19-3, A Sikander 8.0-0-42-2) by 57 runs

In hot & sunny conditions, Switzerland won their first match at the Central European Development League ODI Tournament in Prague (15th-17th June 2018) against the hosts Czech Republic (Lions).

Asad (46), Hassan (48), Sajid (30), Afzaal (30), Stefan (20) all contributed with the bat to set the Czech's a target score of 239, which the Swiss team defended with ease thanks to 4 wkts from Faheem and three from Stefan.

 

Meanwhile, Czech Eagles beat Luxembourg by 3 wkts.

 

Day Two

Czech Eagles 205ao in 47.3 overs (A Sikander 10.0-0-32-5, F Nazir 7.3-1-32-2) lost to Switzerland 207-7 in 46.2 overs (A Andrews 50, S Safiat 47, S Franklin 22*, A Mahmood 20, A Sikander 21) by 3 wkts

Switzerland won their second match at the Central European Development ODI Tournament in Prague (15th-17th June 2018) against the hosts Czech Republic (Eagles).

Afzaal Sikander took 5 wickets and Faheem Nazir two to dismiss the Czechs for 205 while Aidan Andrews (56) with the first Swiss half-century of the tournament,  Sajid Safiat (47) and Stefan Franklin unbeaten on 22 (22*) guided the Swiss home with three wickets and 4 overs to spare.

 

In the other match Luxembourg posted a 56 run win against Czech Lions.

 

Day Three

Luxembourg 171ao (A Sikander 10.0-1-35-3) lost to Switzerland 175-2 in 27.3 overs (A Andrews 53, O Mahmood 49, A Sikander 19*, A Hassan 20*) by 8 kts

Switzerland beat Luxembourg by a convincing 8 wicket margin on day 3 of the Central European Development ODI Tournament in Prague (15th-17th June 2018) to win their third match from three to become clear winners.

Aidan Andrews (53) scored another half century in Switzerland's win to secure his personal tournament MVP award, and along with Osama Mahmood (49) set up the Swiss perfectly with an opening stand of 117. Hasan Ahman (20*) and Afzaal Sikander (19*) both unbeaten took Switzerland across the line for an easy victory.

 

In the other match Czech Lions 193-4 narrowly beat Czech Eagles 189ao by 4 run to finish second in the table.
