4 charged for Chinese businessman’s kidnap in Zambo Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/07 November) – Police have filed criminal charges Thursday before the Zamboanga Sibugay Prosecutor’s Office against four people implicated in the kidnapping of a Chinese businessman almost two months ago.

Charged with kidnapping with serious illegal detention were Ibni Basaludin, Yug Enriquez, Brahama Ali, and Ging-Ging Calon, all residents of Barangay Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Chief Insp. Saul Cabilin, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Investigation and Detection Management chief, said they were charged for the kidnapping of Li Pei Zhei, a native of Fujian, a province in the southeast coast of mainland China.

Li, the sales manager of Kabasalan Sales Center, a ready-to-wear outlet, was abducted by four gunmen last September 11.

He was taken to Basilan province and was released last Wednesday in Sitio Lugay-Lugay, Barangay Naga-Naga, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Cabilin said those charged were allegedly involved in the kidnapping, but clarified that the gunmen who carried out the actual abduction were still at large. (MindaNews)
