DPNM Statement on the Selection of Sen. Kamala Harris as Joe Biden’s Running Mate

DPNM Chair Marg Elliston released the following statement regarding the Biden for President campaign’s announcement that U.S. Senator Kamala Harris has been selected as Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate for the 2020 election:

“Democrats are set to make history at every level of government this November, from the county commission to the Roundhouse to the White House. Throughout this year, we’ve seen unprecedented enthusiasm and eagerness to elect leaders that will fight for hardworking families, respect our nation’s incredible diversity, and lead us forward to a brighter future.

“U.S. Senator Kamala Harris has made a name for herself as a champion for Democratic values and a strong voice against hatred and division. Her work represents the same values that we are fighting for here in New Mexico as we continue to build a New Mexico for all.

“The Democratic Party of New Mexico is proud to support Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, and we look forward to Democrats across New Mexico casting their ballots for this historic ticket.”
