John Robert Kaiser collected materials about the British actress Diana Rigg (born Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg in 1938), who appeared in stage, screen, and television. She was most famous for her role in the television program The Avengers.
Abstract:
The Diana Rigg collection (1958-1999) consists of photographs, audio tapes, scripts, and other documents pertaining to the television show The Avengers, photographs from the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and graphic materials, clippings, and correspondence relating to her theatrical career and personal life.

Biographical Note

British actress Diana Rigg (born Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg in 1938) appeared in stage, screen, and television productions beginning with her professional debut in 1957 in The Caucasian Chalk Circle. She acted in several Shakespearean plays before and after playing the part of Emma Peel in the television series  The Avengers. Her film career includes  The Assassination Bureau,  On Her Majesty's Secret Service,  The Hospital, and  Theatre of Blood.

Collection Overview

The collection predominantly consists of photographs of Diana Rigg in her various roles, with particular representations from the television series The Avengers with Patrick Macnee and the James Bond film  On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Also includes publicity photos of her with Anthony Hopkins and Robert Culp. Photographers include Zoe Dominic, Norman Eales, Wallace Heaton, John Kelly, Steven Keull, Terry O'Neill, Robert Penn, Ronnie Pilgrim, George Whitear, and Reg Wilson. Also includes materials related to  The Avengers (dialogue sheet scripts by episode number, promotion kits, audio tapes, album sleeve, paperback books); theater programs and posters; clippings about her career and personal life; and correspondence between the donor, John Robert Kaiser, and Diana Rigg's mother, Beryl Rigg.
