Oct 5, 2020The original Super Mario Bros. is a game that has been there for me since childhood. It's always been a nostalgic security blanket, the video game equivalent of comfort food. It's nice and familiar, but not especially challenging or exciting. Super Mario Bros. 35 took this classic and truly gave it new life. I feel excited, tense and downright giddy about this game for the first time since I was a child.

Oct 5, 2020Wisely blending the exuberance of battle royale with the dictates of the most famous platformer on the face of the earth, the title shows off the potential typical of memorable experiences, which from ideal "hit and run" pastimes are soon transformed into real videogame magnets, which the closer you get, the harder it becomes to break away.

Oct 5, 2020Slick mechanics, smooth controls, and faithfulness to the source material make Mario 35 another successful battle royale hybrid from Akira. Nintendo demonstrates yet again their willingness to experiment with sacred IP, and the result is something we’ve never seen before.

Oct 1, 2020I'm loving Super Mario Bros. 35 and can't wait for the many inevitable updates that it'll receive in the coming months. The blend of its highly competitive online structure with classic 8-bit gameplay is simply a blast and I hope to see you online, too.

Oct 12, 2020I was pleasantly surprised to find a fair amount of replay value and challenge baked into the experience here. Not only do you level up through playing matches, but there are also daily challenges and special game modes that change over time. Still, as much fun as it is to play against other players, there’s only so much this can do to make things feel fresh. You’ll soon be a bit sick of seeing the same levels and wish that there were more Mario titles, or even more classic Nintendo games.

Oct 8, 2020Super Mario Bros. 35 is a flawed game in some ways while offering something new and unique and a whole lot of fun in others.
-
Oct 8, 2020Despite everything Super Mario Bros. 35 offers and the fun it provides, it's the lack of security in the investment of time that players make that overshadows the experience. While it's fun on its own, a big part of its appeal is situated in how much fun it is to unlock options and sink more time into it, which will amount to nothing in March - and in that light, this game is difficult to recommend outside of a few brief sessions.

Oct 6, 2020Very fun and addictive gameplay. Hope they keep it on the eshop and don't take it down in March.

Oct 2, 2020It's a very fun solid game that let's you play the classic Super Mario Bros with other players. The thing is that once it's March 2021, it's no more.

Oct 5, 2020There's a lot of strategy to the original formula and Super Mario Bros has never been this fun.
