Commander John Scott Hannon Act Signed into Law

WASHINGTON, Oct. 20, 2020 -- Through bipartisan effort and significant advocacy efforts from Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), major legislation has been signed into law that will provide new treatments for warriors dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The newly signed law is designed to reduce suicides and increase resilience, especially in underserved areas.

Wounded Warrior Project Adds New Leadership to Board of Directors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 1, 2020 -- Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) added fresh perspectives to its volunteer Board of Directors with the addition of Tiffany Daugherty and Capt. (Ret.) Will Reynolds, III. The duo brings military, business, and health care experience to a diverse board of our nation's leaders.

For Daugherty, it is a bit of a homecoming as she previously worked for WWP leading one of the organization's career counseling teams. She is also a registered warrior with the veterans charity.

Veterans Charity Leads Suicide Prevention Efforts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 30, 2020 -- Veterans Administration estimates 17 veterans take their life every day. That statistic is alarming and has organizations like Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) working to help veterans in crisis find the help they need.

During Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, WWP helped train warriors,families, and others that connect with veterans regularly to identify the signs someone may be considering ending their life. With this online training, WWP also provided the tools to help intervene and get someone in crisis to a safe place.

The event brings together wounded veterans, WWP leadership, and a leading clinician that specializes in post-traumatic stress treatment to talk about suicide prevention, veterans' mental health, and free resources available to veterans and their families.
