SyFy’s fantasy drama “The Magicians” has added Summer Bishil, star of 2007 indie drama “Towelhead” and ABC’s “Lucky 7,” to the pilot as Margo Hanson, a brilliant student in the show’s Brakebill’s Academy.
Bishil joins leads Jason Ralph (“A Most Violent Year”) and Sosie Bacon in the pilot, written by John McNamara and Sera Gamble. Other members of the cast include Stella Maeve (“Chicago PD”), Hale Appleman (“Teeth”) and Arjun Gupta (“Nurse Jackie”).
“The Magicians,” based on Lev Grossman’s bestselling series of novels, is another investment in scripted programming for SyFy, which is set to premiere new series including “The Expanse,” “The Killjoys” and “12 Monkeys” in 2015.
