Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns
Scheduled for the Week of May 26 – 30
All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.
TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK
The westbound span may be closed Tuesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.
Overnight/off-peak work on the westbound span will include deck/joint repairs and replacements that will result in periods of steel plates placed in the center and left lanes.
One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work. Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.
Note: Full-time all-electronic (cashless) tolling in effect. Tolls collected via gantry on Kent Island side. Three lanes merge down to two on eastbound US 50 at Oceanic Drive (Exit 32). Left lane will open to traffic when two-way is in effect on westbound bridge. Motorists should obey all signs and speed limits, as the toll plaza is an active work zone.
