Aishwarya Rajesh is known for picking diverse and bold roles in her career. The actress is all set to make a Telugu debut with World Famous Lover, starring Vijay Deverakonda. Recently, it was reported that Aishwarya Rajesh has been roped in to play an important role in Kamal Haasan's Indian 2.
However, the actress has backed out of the film due to date issues. In a recent interview with The Hindu Tamil, Aishwarya Rajesh opened up about why she had to let go of the film.
She said, "I signed the film last December. When they resumed the shooting suddenly in August, I couldn't be a part of the film. I know the entire story of Indian 2 and I believe that it could be a historical film. I am not someone who became a heroine in a single day. Also, I didn't have any film background. Imagine how I would have felt when I couldn't be a part of a film that has Shankar and Kamal Haasan in it. I couldn't sleep for two days."
On the work front, Aishwarya Rajesh will be seen in Sivakarthikeyan's Namma Veetu Pillai, which is all set to hit the theatres on September 27. In the film, the Kanaa actress will be essaying the role of Sivakarthikeyan's sister.
She said, "I had never said that I would be doing only lead roles. I've never done it in my career so far. Siva and I worked together in Kanaa. Also, I had a thought that I may not get lead roles if I act as his sister. But, when I heard the story of Namma Veetu Pillai, I agreed instantly. Not just Siva, I would play sister to any hero."
Namma Veetu Pillai, directed by Pandiraj, boasts of an ensemble cast including Anu Emmanuel, Bharathiraja, Samuthirakani, Soori, Yogi Babu and Aadukalam Naren.
