GTA and the S7800B
« on: February 03, 2014, 02:46:06 pm »
Alight, before everyone jumps down my *. I'll start by saying I don't use any applications that have ad's. I don't mind purchasing an application to support the developers hard work. If a developer does not offer a paid product w/o ads I'm not using it - simple as that. And yes, I'm aware of Tincore's upgraded keymapper (supporting analog) however it still has ads on the main screen.

Now, with that out of the way. How in the hell does on honk a horn in GTA (10 year Anniversary Version - if that matters) without using Tincore's application on a S7800B.

I've read a bit on a virtual keyboard (application?), holding the menu button, etc.

There is no on-screen GUI for my unit, thus I can't hit the stupid horn button on the touchpad.

Great game, want to play - can't honk the horn!

Buy the remove adds addon. Profit. But if you don't want to pay the addon , just use other mappers. All other mappers are paid apps too, but doesn't have the same level of functionality.

It's cheaper to buy the addon than buying another mapper which doesn't work as good. (not even close like stpat says)

Not sure about your apk question, but why the reluctance towards Tincore Keymapper?

JXD keymapper is not an apk. Thogh you have made a custom firmware, I though you already knew that,

Frankly I don't like applications that have ads. I'm pissed off at the $0.99 world of applications. Give me something that works and is ad free and I'll pay you. Don't install an application that takes my personal information and converts it into marketing. I value my privacy - and Google does NOT value privacy.

I would gladly pay for a "TinCore Professional" if that option was available.

Installing then upgrading to a paid version just rubs me the wrong way. It's not standard and makes tracking what / how each APK installs / works a pain in the arse.

Sorry, typo that was to say: what APK drives the remove adds addon?
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=remove%20adds%20addon&c=apps

I assume your talking about an app? There's only a few billion of them. Or is this something I missed in the keymapper as an in-app purchase?

Further, one could think you could kill the path to these ads providers via hosts?

So, basically you want to patch an app that you don`t want to pay an addon. Sorry, I disagree about that methods. Developers spend hours working and deserve to be paid in my opinion.

You misunderstand, I assume this "ad remover" is an in-app purchase then - something not found on the description on the Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tincore.and.keymapper). As I said before, I installed it saw the ads and removed it.

Obvious, there is a addon to remove adds. An IAP yes.

Thanks skelton - looks like I'll revisit Tincore then. From a marketing perspective they should really tell you that in the description at the Play Store. Would save conversations like this.

Cheers.

First of all thanks for reading the app description.

What would you like to see there? That there are Add-ons that can be purchased?

Yeah tincore, I think it would help your sales.

Frankly speaking, if I see ads on a free application I remove it. I didn't notice any immediate ability when I installed [your] application to remove the ads (perhaps this is my fault).

I would suggest the following:

1. Distribute a Tincore Professional version that has all the bells and whistles in it.
2. Revise your application description to includes "Ads (or whatever) can be removed via in in-app purchase".

My guess that option (1) would increase piracy (I assume the ability to remove the ads is generated from a hardware ID so it cannot be used on another device), I totally get / respect that.

And congratulations on having the Honda of KeyMappers ;-)

I understand. The ads remove suggestion only shows when they are blocked by another app.

I will add something on the app description. It is currently explained (briefly) on the wiki.

Hi tincore, off-topic, but does your mapper have a setting to emulate an Ouya controller (using the S7800B's controls)? Cheers!

To those who are playing GTA San Andreas. When you get to mission 'Pier 69', do you pass it normally? Because every time I kill T-bone in the mission, nothing happens. The game basically glitches there.

I think that Ouya games check for the device and not the controller so I believe it is of no use.

Nevertheless you can try Mode O.
