Projekt Melody is now back on Twitch and it’s been revealed why she was banned in the first place.

Projekt Melody was banned on Twitch following a DMCA filing by the original designer of the virtual anime character.

The copyright strike for use of the 2D and 3D model is what resulted in the virtual streamer being removed from the platform, and the copyright claim was made by an email associated with DigitrevX.

DigitrevX reportedly created Projekt Melody’s virtual character for $5,000, and the IP reportedly belongs to the streamer as suggested by screengrabs of communications which can be found via Projekt Melody’s TwitLonger post.

Projekt Melody is now back on Twitch and the matter appears to be resolved although her partner status is yet to return.

There’s always a lot of talk about Twitch and its personnel with most of the spotlight now shining on Pokimane and her donation cap as she implores her viewers to support growing channels. However, away from good Samaritan deeds after having already made plenty of money, lots of people are asking: why was Projekt Melody banned on Twitch? While the virtual streamer was said to have been SFW on the platform, she was also reportedly flirtatious and ‘lewd’.

People on Reddit have suggested that Projekt Melody could have been banned for pointing people towards her Chaturbate or PornHub accounts, but there are many people who don’t buy this reason because of other alleged streamers doing the same.

Twitch won’t provide an official reason for why they banned Projekt Melody, but most people are guessing that it’s because of their terms of service about sexually explicit and suggestive content which affects both actual people and virtual ones.
