Unproduced 4th Kelvin Movie

Overview
Little is known about the 4th Kelvin Universe movie. It was pre-announced during the press tour for Star Trek Beyond in July 2016, and then nothing was said about it until April 2018. The fourth Kelvin movie script was written by Patrick McKay and JD Payne (who were co-writers of the scrapped script for the 3rd movie). It was to feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk, Captain James T. Kirk’s father. The press release from 2016 has a very brief description of the movie:
In the next installment of the epic space adventure, Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father.
As of early-2019 the project had been “shelved” indefinitely. In November 2019 the project was replaced with a totally new film by Noah Hawley.
