Post Kahaani, expectations from a Vidya Balan film have always been high. No doubt it's tough to match those expectations but the sad part is that no film has even reached the half-way mark since then.

Her latest film Bobby Jasoos in which Vidya plays the title role is just about watchable and the only reason is Vidya Balan.

The film starts with a lot of promise but everything falls flat post the first fifteen minutes.

All Bobby (Vidya Balan) wants in life is to be a jasoos, so much so that she keeps trying her luck at the detective agency even though she has been rejected many times in the past. With a vengeance she starts her own detective agency and soon she gets lucky as Anees Khan (Kiran Kumar), a mysterious stranger who comes in a fancy car keeps bringing in business and giving her one project after another, till she stops working and tries to find out what he does in life.

Bobby's family is a conservative one, her father doesn't want his daughter to earn money as he is still alive. Her love interest played by Ali is supposedly a popular TV anchor but you never see him working.

Vidya clearly has worked hard for this role. From different looks to her accent, she has got everything right. Ali is not bad either, he does put in sincere efforts and the two share good chemistry together. Actors have actually done their bit.

The idea of Bobby Jasoos is good but the execution is not! The script is full of loopholes and is very predictable. Just when you feel the film is getting too long, there is a love song which is unnecessary. Music by Shantanu Moitra is strictly average.

Bobby Jasoos could have been a winner but it lost track somewhere in between!
