Bulls sign former DePaul guard Max Strus to a 2-way contract

The Bulls signed guard former DePaul guard Max Strus to a two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Under terms of a two-way contract, Strus cannot spend more than 45 days with the Bulls. The Hickory Hills native and Stagg graduate will play the bulk of the season with the Windy City Bulls of the G League.

Strus, 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, spent the preseason with the Celtics after going undrafted. He played in four preseason games, averaging 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14.6 minutes, before the Celtics waived him Saturday.

Strus was second-team All-Big East with DePaul last season, averaging 20.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 35 games. He set DePaul single-season records with 113 3-pointers and 311 3-point attempts. His career scoring average of 18.6 points per game ranks fourth in DePaul history.

The Bulls said Strus will wear No. 28.
