The Cornelia Goethe Center for Women’s and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary research institute at the Goethe- University Frankfurt am Main which promotes cooperation among researchers from a variety of disciplines.

Among the activities, research fields and lectures, the Center has established in 2013 the Angela Davis Guest Professorship for International Gender and Diversity Studies.

Every two years an internationally renown scientist holds the chair for about two weeks. Angela Davis, the name giver, was the first to occupy the position.

Investigating the current state of Gender Studies in Germany

The German Council of Science and Humanities has set up a working group for the evaluation of gender studies in research and teaching. The group is expected to begin its work in the second half of 2020.
