Amador stunt team wins at cheer nationals

Varsity takes second in intermediate division

The Amador Valley stunt team of Mary Hinek, Ashley Boxberger, Kaitlyn McGarrity, Melia Storey and Emily Mercer was crowned national champions out of 42 teams at the United Spirit Association nationals cheer competition in Anaheim two weekends ago.

The Amador varsity show cheer team also finished strongly, earning second place out of 20 teams in the intermediate division. Coached by Danielle Butler, the varsity team consisted of Hinek, Boxberger, McGarrity, Storey, Mercer, Katherine Jackson, Hannah Jacobs, Lilly Braas, Mckenna Shaffer, Carsyn Gilbert, Kayla Fulmer and Elize Elizalde.
