Media does not want our trust

Journalist Ben Bartee in the Daily Bell asked, "The Question CNN Never Asks Normal People: Why Do Americans Hate the Media?"

He pointed to the double standards of the two-faced sheep in wolves clothing that passes for a news media today.

He gave a great description of what Americans hate.

Bartee wrote, "If media apologists can lay the claim unchallenged that Americans simply hate the media, the blame for the problem — and onus for fixing it – falls squarely on an illiterate, ungrateful, anti-intellectual rabble that can’t appreciate the dressings of high-brow society such as civic participation.

"A sober assessment of blame, in fact, points the finger directly back at the Manhattan academic/DC think-tank class: Americans hate the Bezos-owned Washington Post and Buzzfeed — not the media as a whole or the practice of journalism itself.

"The same people who hate CNN used Parler before Amazon cut off its server access at the behest of the ruling class. They read Drudge Report and ZeroHedge. They frequent InfoWars.

"It’s not the media as a unified entity that the working class and crumbling middle class hate.

"Rather, their ire is directed very specifically at the very upper echelons of elite media, which is entirely run by and for the interests of the ruling class."

Drudge Report? Nope. Citizen Free Press. It's the 21st century, and Monica is 47.

Bartee never got around to the reason CNN never asks people why they hate CNN.

That is because CNN does not care what people think of it. Credibility, once the only asset of the media, no longer matters. A slot on the cable lineup is all that matters. Once secured, a network can abandon its purpose in the pursuit of large audiences.

Just as the History Channel gave way to marathons of American Pickers and Ancient Aliens, so CNN and the rest have abandoned news coverage for freak shows. The biggest draws CNN has had for the last 30 years have been wars and funerals. George Floyd gave CNN three.

And just as the History Channel has only a passing interest in history, so CNN and the rest have only a passing interest in the news.

But the news media also serves their corporation owners first. MSNBC puts the interest of Comcast above journalism. CNN does the same for AT&T. This makes sense. And what is in the corporate interest is to serve the federal government because the politicians have the power to put CEOs in prison. No CEO wants that to happen. And so they play along.

It now serves the federal government's purpose to eliminate all dissent. The media brands the dissent misinformation from the side of its mouth that is not spewing government lies.

The result is, as Axios reported, "Trust in traditional media has declined to an all-time low, and many news professionals are determined to do something about it."

That is a half-truth.

The half that is true is that trust in the media is at a new low.

The half that is false is the part where news professionals are determined to do something.

Nope.

They don't care. If they did, they would apologize for promoting the Russian Collusion conspiracy hoax, calling riots mostly peaceful protests, and labeling Trump supporters as white supremacists.

The media does not want our trust because part of any propaganda campaign is to get those who resist to give up and believe no one.

Don't expect the media as a whole to clean up its act. Fox may try to win back conservative viewers but that would be it.

CNN does not ask normal American why they hate the media because CNN nd the rest of the media really don't care about us. We are no threat to their CEOs.

The deep state is.

  2. If you would stop the enormous transfer of power and wealth to a select few, all in the name of “social justice”, first you need to shut down the conduit between progressive activists and their oligarchic funders.

  4. The premiere senior scholar of the Conservatism Angelo Codevilla has a new essay out there. His opening indicates its another classic...

"Either the Constitution matters and must be followed . . . or it is simply a piece of parchment on display at the National Archives."
    — Texas v. Pennsylvania et al.

Texas v. Pennsylvania et al. did not deny setting rules for the 2020 election contrary to the Constitution. On December 10, 2020, the Supreme Court discounted that. By refusing to interfere as America’s ruling oligarchy serves itself, the court archived what remained of the American republic’s system of equal justice. That much is clear.

  5. Why do we hate the media? It’s easy - they’re dishonest, intolerant and hateful. Other than that, I’m sure they’re fine people.......
