The collection includes the Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese since 1979 and the Competition on Story Writing in Chinese for Students since 1995 from which various titles have been published.

| Introduction: | Hong Kong Public Libraries aims to promote reading and creative writing through organizing writing competitions and publishing the award-winning works. The Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese have been organized since 1979 to encourage creative writing by local writers. The winning entries of the Awards are published as "Hong Kong Children's Literature Series". In addition, competition on Story Writing in Chinese for Students has been organized since 1995. Students are encouraged to write stories about people or events around them. Through the stories written in different generation, readers can share the joy and novelty of the kids. |
