Aston Villa have completed the signing of Iceland international Birkir Bjarnason.
The 28-year-old midfielder makes the move to Villa Park on a three-and-a-half year deal after a fee was agreed with Swiss club FC Basel.
Bjarnason has scored eight goals in 57 international appearances and featured for Iceland in their 2-1 victory over England at Euro 2016.
The former Viking, Standard Liege, Pescara and Sampdoria player said: "I'm delighted to have signed for Aston Villa. It's a very big club. I am now looking forward to getting out on to the pitch and helping the team."
Sky sources also understand Villa have received a number of enquiries for Ross McCormack, but are yet to receive any firm offers for the forward.
