OC Admissions Reps

Ally Herrera graduated from Olivet College in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Her own positive experiences as a student and strong connections to faculty and staff motivated her to return to the college with a goal to help other students succeed.

“I full-heartedly believe that college is much more than just getting your degree, but a place where you develop life skills, gain independence and learn to become a self-sufficient member of society,” Ally said. “College is also where you make lifelong connections with friends and mentors, and I am honored to be in a position where I can help students find that in an institution.”

In her role as campus visit coordinator, Ally organizes and executes all individual and group visits for prospective students. Every visit is customized to the student or group that comes in, giving them an experience catered to their unique interests. She also recruits students from the counties of Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale, Jackson, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph.

Ally has a strong passion for marketing because it allows her to connect with diverse audiences and help others reach their goals, something that led her to higher education. Previously, she worked in the marketing department at FireKeepers Casino Hotel for five years, advancing to executive casino host. Ally’s responsibilities centered around player development, including welcoming VIP guests and planning events like celebrity meet-and-greets. In addition, Ally has one daughter, citing her role as mom as the best job ever.

“I like to share with high school students that the college search process will seem overwhelming at times, but know that when they find the right institution, it will feel like home before it actually is,” Ally said. “Even as a commuter myself, I spent a lot of nights staying on campus with classmates, not realizing I was creating lifelong friendships. After graduating, I felt prepared to pave my professional path, given all the tools I needed to succeed. It is my goal to help students find this feeling at OC.”
