Health Ministry: 1,294 new Covid-19 cases, five fatalities bring death toll to 1,283


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,294 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (April 2), bringing the cumulative total to 347,972.

According to a Health Ministry tweet, there were five new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,283.

Another 1,442 patients were discharged from medical facilities, which means 332,443 have recovered from the disease nationwide to date.

In total there are 14,246 active cases in the country.

From this number, 168 are in intensive care units, with 78 requiring ventilation support.

Selangor remained as the state with the most new cases, followed by Sarawak with 217.
