As mail theft continues to adversely impact the Atlanta area, agencies like the Georgia Police Department are using Clearview AI’s investigative platform to help identify these perpetrators and help support inter-agency collaboration in the region.

Cold Case Solved by Fairfield Task Force Allows for Inter-agency Collaboration
Fairfield Athens Major Crimes Unit Task Force hit a roadblock in a cold drug conspiracy case, when they were unable to identify their primary target. The only piece of information known was the target’s drug supplier’s nickname. The case was reopened in 2019 when the supplier's nickname appeared in another case, and phone records produced a photo with the supplier standing next to the former target. Clearview AI provided a potential identity, which was later confirmed. Multiple agencies across the country had investigative interest in the same target and this identification allowed for crucial inter-agency coordination.

Cases Where None Previously Existed
A Montgomery County Texas Constable’s Office had numerous cases with no leads, including cases of robbery, shoplifting, online solicitation of a minor, home invasions, and a fraud investigation where a suspect stole the identities of 17 individuals. The agency stated that Clearview AI helped provide them unique, invaluable leads for these cases, which were followed up with more traditional investigative techniques.
