ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Department of Health has released updated data on COVID-19 fatalities, including race, gender, age, and other health conditions.
On Wednesday, Melissa DeRosa, secretary to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, announced the state's COVID-19 website was updated to include more information about the nearly 5,500 New Yorkers who have died from COVID-19.

The information on race/ethnicity is based on 90% reporting for the state, outside of New York City, and 63% reporting for New York City.
