Subtitles available in English and lots of other languages. Please click the speech bubble. This video was recorded at the Great British Kundalini Yoga Festival in June 2012 where the Basics of Sikhi team were invited to talk about the Mool Mantra and Vaheguru Mantra.

In this video we first explore the history behind the Mool Mantr and Guru Nanak's enlightenment. Then we go through every word in the Mool Mantra and talk about the five mantras as per the traditional school of Damdami Taksal founded by Guru Gobind Singh ji. These are the Beej Mantar, Maha Mantar, Mool Mantar, Gur Mantar and Mala Mantar.

We also sing and chant to kirtan by Jagdeep Kaur (Vocals and Guitar) and her husband Amritpal Singh (Tabla). (www.qi-rattan.com).

We then also go through five slightly different ways of chanting the Vaheguru Gurmantar, especially with reference to the Four Ages, (four yugas) and then talk about the significance of Satguru Nanak's coming into the world during Kaliyug (Kal Jug).

Video:
Mool Mantar - beginning up to 1hr:25mins
Kirtan (Simran) - from 1hr 25mins - 1hr 42mins
Vaheguru Gurmantar - 1hr 42 mins to end
