We are ready to help you complete an application when you are! Salem is proud of its diverse student body from all over the world, and we invite you to apply to be part of it.

Apply

New Students

Applicants must have graduated from high school or have demonstrated high school equivalency by successfully completing the General Education Development (GED) test prior to the first date of enrollment. For graduate programs, Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or equivalent from an international university. In addition, SU must approve the bachelor’s degrees or equivalent education that prepared the student for graduate studies in the chosen educational program.

 
MBA Applicants
  • Complete an application form
  • Provide official transcripts showing proof of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. university or college, or from an international university with credential evaluation.
  • Proof of appropriate prerequisite courses (e.g. accounting) if necessary
 
School of Nursing Applications
  • Complete an application form
  • Provide official transcripts proving the applicant holds an Associate of Nursing Degree or Diploma (applicants are awarded 60 credits for their diploma or degree)
  • Write a one-page essay outlining their personal philosophy of nursing
  • Provide two letters of reference from unrelated individuals who can speak to the applicant’s professionalism and character
 
School of Education Applicants
  • Official transcripts showing proof of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. university or college, or from an international university with credential evaluation. For Master of Education students, this must show a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
  • M.Ed. in Educational Leadership applicants must provide proof of a valid teaching certificate and access to sites for field work
  • M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction applicants must provide a statement of purpose, proof of a valid teaching certificate, and access to sites for field work
  • M.Ed applicants have to fill out an additional School of Education Graduate Application as part of the application process.
 

Transfer Students

Any person who has attended another post-secondary institution will be classified as a transfer student regardless of how many or how few credits may have been earned. Domestic transfer students must arrange to provide official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities, whether they earned any credits or not. *Some programs may have additional requirements.

Sometimes events are out of your control. It’s understandable that you may have taken a break from college. If you stopped attending your courses at Salem University, you can talk to an advisor when you’re ready to return. In some cases, you might even be able to pick up where you left off.
