Illinois election results show Alorton, Centreville will merge

According to unofficial election results, with 19 of 22 precincts reporting in O’Fallon, 2,372 votes have been cast in favor of the city’s advisory referendum and 2,218 have been cast against it.

9:26 p.m.

With all six precincts reporting in Centreville, the city has voted yes on the referendum to merge with Alorton to form a new city called “Alcentra.” The referendum, according to unofficial election results, passed 797 to 255. In total, 1,080 votes were cast.

8:46 p.m.

According to unofficial election results, with all precincts reporting, the Village of Alorton has approved the referendum to merge with Centreville. In total, 335 votes were cast in favor of the referendum, or 76%. 439 ballots were cast in total.

8:43 p.m.

With four of six precincts reporting and 807 ballots cast in Centreville, 76% of voters have voted yes on the referendum to merge the two cities. 170 voters, or 21%, have voted no. I
