Dreamcast hardware list based on internal differences

Over the years, a lot of people have discussed
the different dreamcast models.
A lot of lists based on the external case exist,
but few reliable lists based on the internal hardware differences exist.
This list tries to regroup that information
based on reliable sources only (ie, Dreamcast I have
or detailed photos).
I’ve collected +- 30 dreamcasts,
mainly Japanese for the moment, and made a small program to do a few BIOS/…
checks.
It is a continuous work-in-progress, so it 1)
is not complete (especially the production years) and 2) will be adapted in the
future (read: very long term project).
If you have Dreamcast models not mentioned
here, or models that contradict / complete the info here, please read the next
paragraph to see how you can participate in making this list better.

To
allow others to validate your entry, add some pictures, the clearer the better !
· Take a clear picture of the back of
the Dreamcast, so that all the letters & numbers of the label(s) are
readable
· Take a clear picture of the front of
the Dreamcast, with the lid open, so that we can see the inside + read the
Windows CE logo
· Take of the top of the case by
removing a few screws in the back of the Dreamcast, and take a clear picture of
the inside of the Dreamcast,
so that we can see the fan, the GD-ROM
manufacturer, and whether it has a GD-ROM daughterboard or not.

Specify
if you bought it first-hand or second-hand

If
you can upload .elf programs to your Dreamcast via BBA/Lan/serial
cable, upload the checker program dc_joho.elf to your Dreamcast & post a
screenshot of the Bios version & CRC.
· Warning: program is not 100% correct
yet, but the BIOS CRC & the version string should be OK.
