First mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy (USN) air photos, 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Thomas M. Osborne, Navy builder, who helped construct and served at the South Pole Station with the winter party, 1957. |
