New faces make ‘Vaishakam’ refreshing

Vaisakham starts off by introducing Bhanumati (Avantika Mishra) who is on the lookout for a flat to set up a beauty parlour with her friend before going abroad.

The quest sees her crossing paths with Venu (Harish), known to be rude and arrogant, and who lives in the same building where she finds the flat. To avoid her plans from going kaput, Bhanumati introduces herself to everyone as Venu’s girlfriend.

Venu confronts her on this, and after being at loggerheads initially, she manages to convince him that it is a good idea for him as well to survive in the apartment. Gradually, a soft corner for her grows in Venu and he falls in love with her. But she rejects his proposal, citing a compelling reason. The reason behind Bhanumati’s stance and whether Venu can change her heart is what makes up most of the movie.

Though quite on predictable lines, the film has a refreshing touch to it, courtesy the new faces. Both the actors performed well in their roles. Sai Kumar, Eeshwari, Rama Prabha and Prithvi too come up with decent performances.

With a message to the youth on acquiring a mature outlook towards life, and the importance of working towards a financially sound position in life, along with music composed by DJ Vasanth, the film scores on production quality as well. Ignore the routine storyline and a few inane comedy scenes, and wait for the twists in the climax. You will not regret watching Vaisakham.
