FX's Y: The Last Man Developed As an 'Ongoing Series'

A script should be delivered to FX in the next couple of months.

FX is still moving forward on its adaptation of Y: The Last Man, offering an update on its status at the 2017 winter TV Critics Association.

Showrunner Michael Green is currently working with comics creator Brian K. Vaughn on a script for the project, and FX's President of Original Programming Nick Grad says the network is "waiting on a script."

"We're supposed to get a script in the next couple months," he said.

Of whether Y: The Last Man is envisioned as a drama or a limited series, like FX stalwarts American Horror Story, Fargo and American Crime Story, Grad clarified, "It's going to be an ongoing series."

Y: The Last Man tells a dystopian science fiction story centered around a young man named Yorick Brown, who, alongside his pet monkey, are seemingly the last remaining male mammals on Earth.
