openMSX 0.13.0
« on: August 01, 2016, 04:03:55 am »
A new release of the MSX emulator openMSX is available, including an OPK for the GCW Zero. You can download it from the repo or the openMSX web site, or using this direct link to the OPK.

Many things were added and fixed since the last official release for the Zero, which was 0.10.0. You can read the full list here. A lot of it concerns features that are not particularly relevant to playing on the GCW Zero though. What is probably most noticeable is the improved support for the power slider (for menu and pause) and the mini manual inside the OPK (viewable with gmenu2x's "Show manual" option). And the bug fixes will give you more accurate emulation, which is always good.

Happy MSX-ing!

There is still no GUI for remapping buttons. You can do it from Tcl, but since the Zero doesn't have a keyboard that means messing with scripts.

There is an OSD keyboard you can call up with SELECT, which allows you to press MSX keys. That works if you don't need to press a key very often, for example if you want to press "1" to start a 1-player game with joystick in old Konami titles.
