Career Highlights

"Ross Rebagliati began competing as a downhill skier but took an interest early on in
snowboarding. At age 15, Rebagliati taught himself to snowboard and later won the Canadian
Amateur Championship and US Amateur Championship in 1990. In 1991, at 20 years of age,
Rebagliati turned professional, winning Mt. Baker Banked Slalom in 1991, US Open and
European Championships in 1994, World Cup Giant Slalom win at Sestriere, Italy, in 1996,
World Super-Giant Slalom title at Whistler in 1996 and 1997. In 1998 Rebagliati won an
Olympic Gold medal in Nagango in the first-ever snowboarding event held at a Winter Games.
Rebagliati tested positive for THC (cannabis) from secondhand exposure and was momentarily
stripped of his medal. The Canadian Olympic Association appealed the decision and, five days
after he won the gold medal, Rebagliati was reinstated by the Court of Arbitration in Sport. In
2005, Ross was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame."

Post Career Highlights

"Unfortunately, due to international perceptions and laws surrounding cannabis, Rebagliati’s
snowboarding career was cut short - retiring from competition in 2000. Rebagliati went on to
become an outspoken advocate for cannabis, making international media and press
appearances including Sports Illustrated cover story, Vice, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,
TSN, Sportsnet, Globe and Mail, CBC and CTV. He has been featured by press and media as
far away as Australia. In 2009 Rebagliati published his book, Off the Chain: An Insider’s History
of Snowboarding. Rebagliati founded Ross’ Gold in 2013, a medical cannabis business that
promotes the medical and recreational use of cannabis for athletes. The company had a wildly
successful glassware line and bricks and mortar location in Kelowna, BC. In 2018, with
upcoming federal legalization of cannabis in Canada, Rebagliati founded Legacy RR Brands
(Legacy) as a “for athletes, by athletes” cannabis brand. Legacy later merged with Brad Klock’s
(Pro Hockey) Bricks + Bloom Cannabis Company to create a fully vertical, multi brand cannabis
company that is launching globally to deliver seed to sale products, support and experiences
to consumers.
Rebagliati supports numerous charities devoted to youth such as the Big Brothers of Greater
Vancouver and the Kids Help Phone. He has traveled as far as Florida, US, with Make A Wish
Foundation."

GRWG) managed to close in the green, with gains of 24%. This still meant giving up some of the gains accrued between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19.

The rally started last Friday when the grow supplies company reported its second-quarter financial results, establishing a new revenue record for the tenth consecutive quarter.

GrowGeneration continued to spike on Monday after Jim Cramer interviewed CEO Darren Lampert on CNBC, describing its business model as the “most exciting” he’s seen in retail.

Following a five-day rally, GrowGeneration’s stock hit a peak of $22.30 on Wednesday, and commenced a small decline as excitement around its earnings wore off and some investors looked to take profits. On Friday, shares took a dive of more than 9% after Hindenburg Research published a report arguing the “Euphoric Retail Stock Has The Brightest Management Red Flags” that analysts have “ever seen,” saying downside surpasses 70%.

With CFL season scuttled, Bergman enjoys 'just being a dad'
With CFL season scuttled, Bergman enjoys 'just being a dad'
The silver lining for Norfolk County native Shane Bergman in COVID-19 upsetting plans for the 2020 Canadian Football League season is the extra time he got to spend with his nine-month-old son, Asher.

The season, originally scheduled to begin in June, was officially cancelled this week.

The CFL had asked the federal government for a $30-million interest-free loan with the intention of creating a hub city (Winnipeg) to host games with no spectators. But the loan was turned down and the CFL put the brakes on plans for a six-game regular season, followed by playoffs and a Grey Cup.

“I had no idea what was going on with those talks between the CFL and the federal government,” said the offensive lineman for the Calgary Stampeders. “I didn’t know about the final decision but I thought it was going (to be cancelled) just because it took so long. It was inevitable.”
