So I’ve been wanting to do this thread for a while and as usual, I’m hoping people who know more than me, academics especially, chime in. The question: when did “bipartisanship” become an important value in American politics?

If even half of what I _do_ understand from this article is true, another epic con on the part of outgoing administration. They should be ashamed. Deeply ashamed.

The needs to edit this article so it answers real-people questions: Are there second doses for people who got first doses? Are there first doses for people going forward? Did officials lie about vaccine availability?

In the American language, the most famous words ever written about freedom of the press are from the Constitution: "Congress shall make no law... " But the second most famous words are from A.J. Liebling: "Freedom of the press belongs to those who own one." Big week for them.

Ubiquiti, which makes a range of IoT gear (routers, locks, Web cams, NVRs) & has a cloud solution for managing those, just told customers to reset passwords/enable 2FA after discovering "unauthorized access to certain of our IT systems hosted by a third party cloud provider."

Impeachment is about accountability, not unity. The unity comes after accountability, deep reconciliation, and hard work, not before. Reminds me exactly why we say no justice, no peace.

Sen. Sanders: "Some people ask: Why would you impeach and convict a president who has only a few days left in office? The answer: Precedent. It must be made clear that no president, now or in the future, can lead an insurrection against the U.S. government."
