Yep, this weekend was pretty large, but we weren’t expecting anything less - because when the Perth crew comes to the Eastern border, we can almost smell the trouble.

First up, on Friday night: WA streetwear staples Streetx teamed up with the impossibly popular hip-hop outlet No Jumper. A pop-up store in Darlinghurst sold some special collaborative garments, but when nighttime hit, the floor was cleared for some special performances. First up, motley crew Triple One broke some brains with their highly aggressive brand of rap, leaving the floorboards quaking with uncertainty. Next up, young gun The Kid Laroi took things in a more melodic route, but his thick, trap-flavoured production still got the packed room bouncing.

And while Friday night was large, Saturday went supersize at Hidden Festival. It marked the first time the Perth event travelled to Sydney, bringing a mixed bill of rumbling pass producers and rappers. J.I.D. absolutely smashed it with his head-spinning delivery, and after some visa complications, No Jumper’s Adam22 arrived in time to attend the event with Wifisfuneral, Lil Yachty & more.

P.S. Lena The Plug was there.

It was a happy debut for Hidden Festival, and to our friends from Perth: Come back anytime, we miss you.
