Head of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) Abdullah Abdullah presented to members of Troika plus the scheme of Afghan government for winding up the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

Abdullah Abdullah said that Afghan government is committed to ending the ongoing conflicts through negotiations.

Head of HCNR was addressing representatives of US, China, Pakistan and Russia in Troika plus meeting held in Doha Wednesday evening August 11.

Abdullah further added that the major powers of the world and Afghans want an independent, united and an Afghanistan free of terrorism.

He also accused the Taliban of being indifferent to peace negotiations which has led to a stalemate in intra-Afghan talks.

“We are committed to end the conflict through negotiations, we are seeking political settlement and want a third party to mediate the peace talks. We have presented our scheme to the host nation and you will also be provided with one.” Said Abdullah addressing the meeting.

Meanwhile the Taliban delegation led by head of the group’s political office Mullah Baradar in Doha met with Russia’ special representative to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and Hajiyev Vepa, deputy foreign minister of Turkmenistan.

As per the twitter posts of Suhail Shaheen, member of the Taliban’s negotiating team in Doha, Mullah Baradar has asked them to help expediting peace process and has accused the Afghan government not to be interested in political settlement.
