Roger Enrico

Patron of the Arts

Roger A. Enrico is accepting the 1989 Songwriters Hall of Fame Patron of the Arts Award on behalf of PepsiCo, Inc. Mr. Enrico is President and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo’s Worldwide Beverages Division.

Under Mr. Enrico’s guidance, Pepsi’s “New Generation” advertising campaign was begun in 1984. This bold and innovative use of music and world-class entertainers has been a cornerstone of the company’s worldwide marketing strategy. This approach has revolved around a galaxy of stars including Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, David Bowie, Glen Freyand Miami Sound Machine.

Mr. Enrico joined PepsiCo in 1971 and most recently served as President of Pepsi-Cola Co. He was formerly Executive Vice President of Pepsi-Cola USA and prior to that served as Senior Vice President for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group.

In addition, he has served PepsiCo as Vice President for marketing at Frito-Lay and in the international arena, he was area Vice President/South Latin America for PepsiCo International and President of Erito-Lay for PepsiCo Foods International.

Mr. Enrico is a member of the Board of Directors of PepsiCo and also serves on the Board of the New York City Opera, the GMA Inter-lndustry Relations Committee, the Council of the Americas and is a trustee of both Babson College and Hampton University.

Born in Chisholm, Minnesota on November 11,1944, Mr. Enrico graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor’s degree in finance. He resides in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife, Rosemary and son, Aaron.
