Every body concluded the fruit was gone, though wo aro not disposed to lake up with that notion, tho hope, of course being father to the thought. The snow continued to fall during tho forepart of the day but melud as soon as it touched tho earth. A clearing t p and a freeze may probably follow this visit of mo\.. In that event it is thought the peaches and cherries will he lost.
Tho peach trees in this vicinity are in full I doom. The fall of snow upon the bloio ns yesterday morning presented a rare nnd beautiful sight, the red tinge of tha gay flowcrs”being just visible under their covoring of ertnino.

Several women had crowded round and commence4! legging for their sister, but tho big burly fellow managed to keep them all at bay, until his wife stepped upon his foot, either accidentally or designedly, and pushing him slightly at the samo time, ho went reeling out of the door, and fell with his head against a brick wall. The wife, when she saw tho blood spurting from the wounds in her hushnnd's cranium, embraced hci fallen foe, wept and went on at nn alarming rale, thinking, no douht, that sho had killed him. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen to be the case, though tho fellow was baldly hurt.
|3BEscape of ti Thief.—A man calling himself John Konackor, was tried before Esquire Morrell, of Sunfish, tho other day, for stealing $10 in money, a watch and other articles from Frederick Itainsey.
