Current situation

COVID-19 cases in the community

The total number of community cases is currently 429.

Locations of interest in Auckland, Wellington, Coromandel and central north island are listed on the contact tracing locations of interest page. Please call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 to register if you were potentially exposed and for advice on testing.

There is now a requirement for both those who have visited a location of interest during the relevant time, and their household contacts, to isolate at home and call Healthline for advice. There is an exemption for vaccinated health workers that meet other criteria. Read the section 70 public health orders.

Face coverings are now mandatory

You legally must wear a face covering if you are a customer or employee at businesses and services operating at Alert Level 4, including supermarkets, pharmacies, petrol stations, healthcare facilities, and on public transport.

We also encourage you to wear a face covering and keep 2 metres distance from others when leaving your home for exercising, especially if it is difficult to maintain physical distance from others.

Accessing healthcare in Alert Level 4

You can still get medical help if you need it. This includes healthcare services, such as Healthline, GPs, cancer services, disability and aged support services.
