Oceanside CA— The seventh annual Oceanside International Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday August 13 with its yearly awards ceremony. The festival presented 15 awards at its closing gala, which included awards for both Jury recognition as well as Audience Choice voting.
Although San Diego based filmmakers have won best picture in past years, 2017 marks the first year in which an Oceanside native has taken home the main jury prize. Michael Foster, director of 2017 Best Picture Hush, was raised in Oceanside and was once a student at El Camino High School.
Submissions for the 2018 festival are expected to begin in early Fall of 2017.
