Taylor Swift: "Delicate" Extends Her Billboard Chart Record
Taylor Swift's chart dominance is anything but "Delicate." Interestingly, however, it's that exact song that has extended her stronghold on an impressive Billboard Hot 100 record.
"Delicate," Swift's latest single from 2017's Reputation, has risen 10 places to No. 36, marking her 56th Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard. This increases T-Swizzle's lead for the most Top 40 hits by a woman — Rihanna ranks second with 50 Top 40 singles. With 49, Madonna stands at third among women.
Reputation is the gift that keeps on giving for Swift. Her sixth studio album has yielded … wait for it, six Top 40 hits: "Look What You Made Me Do" (No. 1), "…Ready for It?" (No. 4), "Gorgeous" (No. 13), "Call It What You Want" (No. 27), "End Game" featuring Ed Sheeran and Future (No. 18), and now "Delicate," which may continue its ascent further up the chart.
Surely Swift will release a seventh single, won't she? In the meantime, Swift will keep busy with her haul from the 2018 Billboard Music Awards and her stadium tour in support of Reputation, which kicked off earlier this month.
And no, we're not "Mean." You're probably wondering who ranks supreme on Billboard's list for most Top 40 singles. Swift is fifth overall, behind Elton John (57), Lil Wayne (71), Drake (72) and Elvis Presley, who is the king of the Billboard Hot 100 with 80 Top 40 hits.
