Madonna Bringing Drowned World To HBO

Cable network to broadcast August 26 performance from Michigan's Palace of Auburn Hills.

So you couldn't get tickets for Madonna's Drowned World Tour? A live TV broadcast of her August 26 concert might be the next best thing to being there.

HBO will show "Madonna Live: The Drowned World Tour" from her second sold-out night at the Palace of Auburn Hills in her home state of Michigan. The concert will air at 9 p.m. ET in all time zones except Pacific, where it will be tape-delayed until 9 p.m. PT, according to a statement from the network.

It will be Madonna's third HBO special, following concert broadcasts of her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour and her 1993 Girlie Show outing.

The singer's first tour in eight years opens June 9 in Barcelona, Spain, with the U.S. leg kicking off July 21 in Philadelphia (see "Madonna Adds Drowned World Tour Dates").
