When you arrive

Your safety is our highest concern. Doors will open approximately 45 minutes prior to show time, so please arrive early and leave plenty of time for security screening, which includes walk-through metal detectors and bag inspections. Firearms or weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited inside the theatre, regardless of any licenses or permits.

Where are your seats?

All Orchestra seats are located on the main floor of the theatre. There are no steps leading into the Orchestra level of the theatre from the sidewalk. Mezzanine seats are located on the second level: up 25 stairs from the Orchestra. Please be aware that the Eugene O’Neill Theatre does not have an elevator, however all staircases have handrails.

What to wear?

While some theatregoers do get dressed up for their visit to our theatres, you are welcome to wear what makes you most comfortable. Keep in mind that our theatres are kept cool year-round, so you may want to bring a sweater.

Wifi

Drinks and snacks

As you’re getting settled, please visit our bars (one on each level) to enjoy a drink or snack, which you are welcome to take to your seat.

Restrooms

Men’s and Ladies’ restrooms are located down one flight of stairs from the lobby. The Eugene O’Neill Theatre does not have an elevator. However, an accessible restroom is available in The Time Hotel directly adjacent to the theatre at 224 West 49th Street. A member of the theatre staff will be more than happy to guide guests needing an accessible restroom to The Time Hotel. Gender diversity is welcome here. We encourage you to use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression.

Coat check

There is no coat check at the theatre, but if you have a large bag we’d be happy to check it for you. Please speak to a member of our staff when you arrive. The charge is $3 per item.

Take home something to remember

Visit one of the merchandise booths, one on each level, to take home a souvenir from the show.

Accessibility

Access information

The Eugene O’Neill Theatre provides wheelchair-accessible seating on the Orchestra level of the theatre for all performances for patrons who use wheelchairs and their companions. There are no steps leading into the Orchestra level of the theatre from the sidewalk. There are steps to access seating on other levels of the theatre. Pricing for wheelchair-accessible seats on the Orchestra level varies so as to capture the range of prices available throughout the theatre.

Accessibility by seating section

Orchestra Location:

Seating is accessible to all parts of the Orchestra without steps, with the exception of row T which are located up one step. There are no steps to the designated wheelchair seating locations. Wheelchair seating is in the Orchestra only.

Mezzanine Location:

Located on the 2nd level: up 25 steps from the Orchestra. There is an additional 15 steps up to the remainder of the Mezzanine. Entrance to Mezzanine is behind row D.

Please Note: On the Mezzanine level, there are approximately 2 steps up/down per row.

The Eugene O’Neill Theatre offers audio induction neck loops and infrared headsets. If an assistive device would help you enjoy the show, please visit the headset booth in the Orchestra Bar lobby. There is no charge, but a valid photo ID is required as a deposit
