Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 14—Swimming through the mud and ooze on Nebraska field, the Cornhuskers today defeated Knox college by a score of 16 to 0. The Illinois men put up a heavy battle until the last. Once they threatened Nebraska’s goal. The Cornhuskers bucked the line for two touchdowns while one was the result of a dash across the gridiron. The victors got one goal out of the three trials.
Morse, for Nebraska, made a fifty-five yard run for a touchdown, getting the ball on a fake quarterback play.
Sapp, for Knox, neared the rooters after the first ten minutes of play, when he made a fifty-five yard run and was tackled when he had almost skirted the last man. The halves were twenty-five and twenty minutes, and few players received bruises.
