First look: Swank & Swine, the dual restaurant and bar inside downtown Portland's Paramount Hotel

Flanking the entrance to the Paramount Hotel in downtown Portland is Swank & Swine, the restaurant and bar duo, respectively, from The Urban Restaurant Group (Brix Tavern, Bartini, Urban Fondue).

Swank, the 84-seat restaurant on the east side of the building, is helmed by chef Daniel Mondok, who previously ran the kitchen at Paulee in Dundee. The menus (breakfast, lunch and dinner) focus on serving locally-sourced ingredients and Northwest wines and spirits.

At Swine, the moonshine and whiskey bar located on the west side of the building, expect to find a menu of pork-centric foods, including house made pork rinds, bacon cheesecake and a pig in a blanket. Behind the bar, you'll find riffs on classic cocktails, local brews and over 40 different bourbon and whiskeys from producers across the country.

Swine also offers whiskey lockers for patrons who want to keep bottles of whiskey at the bar, for an annual fee.

Swank is open from 6:30 - 10 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 - 10 p.m. for dinner. Swine is open from 3 p.m. - midnight Sunday - Thursday, and 3 p.m. - 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Swank & Swine are located at 808 S.W. Taylor St.
