Barnard alumna and former Board of Trustees Chair Anna Quindlen ’74, Jhumpa Lahiri ’89, and Fatima Bhutto ’04 are among twenty novelists nominated for the 2014 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, the United Kingdom’s only annual book award for fiction written by a woman. The Baileys Women’s Prize, formerly known as the Orange Prize for Fiction, celebrates the talent, diversity, and creativity of women writers from around the world.

Anna Quindlen’s novel Still Life with Bread Crumbs is nominated for the Prize, as well as Jhumpa Lahiri’s The Lowland and Fatima Bhutto’s The Shadow of the Crescent Moon.

The shortlist for the award will be announced April 7, and the winner will be revealed at a ceremony to be held in London’s Royal Festival Hall on June 4.
