Netflix's To All the Boys gets spin-off show with original star returning

Lara Jean's sister Kitty is taking centre stage this time.

Netflix has confirmed that a To All the Boys spin-off series, centred on Lara Jean's younger sister Kitty Song Covey, is on its way.

Titled XO, Kitty, the show is set to follow the teen matchmaker as she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend. Before long, the aspiring love guru realises that relationships are much more complicated when your own heart and happiness are the ones on the line.

Anna Cathcart will reprise her role as Kitty, and feature in all 10 of the outing's 30-minute-long episodes.

Creator Jenny Han, who wrote the best-selling book series on which the films are based, and Sascha Rothchild (GLOW) will act as showrunners, working from scripts written by the former and author Siobhan Vivian.

While franchise fans are sure to be pleased by the prospect of checking in with Kitty's latest romantic endeavours, there's still hope among them that Netflix will announce a fourth movie, too.

Speaking about the possibility of another instalment back in February, Lara Jean actor Lana Condor said: "I think never say never, [but] the third is all I know. To me, that's the ending.

"I would really like to see Lara Jean and [Noah Centineo's character] Peter in their mid-to-late 20s. Like they've gone through college and I want to see what they're like in the work space.

"I have this dream that Lara Jean is working in some realm of literature, I don't know, in New York, writing, living her life. I personally have this feeling that they're going to try to make it work in college, but they're going to have to grow separately to be fully ready to come together."

To All the Boys I've Loved Before and its sequels, P.S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever are available on Netflix.
