How Frozen 2 crafted Kristoff's incredible solo song 'Lost in the Woods'

And Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff reveal their new Frozen karaoke song.

With Frozen being such a massive hit and 'Let It Go' becoming such a beloved and inescapable song, you can imagine the pressure was on for the filmmakers to deliver not just a worthy sequel, but provide a song to stand alongside that Idina Menzel belter.

Early reviews of the film (including ours) are very positive indeed, and while we know Disney can make almost any film a huge hit, we'll have to see if any of Frozen 2's songs become as big as 'Let It Go'.

But we've got a good feeling about it, especially Elsa's (Menzel) new song 'Into the Unknown' and Kristoff's solo song 'Lost in the Woods'.

Although actor Jonathan Groff is also a big Broadway star, he didn't get much of a chance to show off his skills in the first film, but now director Chris Buck and writer/director/chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios Jennifer Lee has exclusively told Digital Spy how they crafted the star's big song in the film.

"That was inspired by a lot of the '80s rock power ballads, so we did a lot of research looking at all those videos," said Buck.

"Bobby [Lopez] and Kristen [Anderson-Lopez] are on that journey with us writing the song. When they do deliver a song, then the challenge is ours to come up with the visuals that can match the brilliance of their songwriting."

Jennifer added: "We have an incredible team of storyboard artists who will board the whole thing and give us ideas. Dan Abraham worked on this one.

"He went to the extreme at times, Kristoff was cartwheeling, ripping off his shirt. We pulled back a little, but only a little, but it's such inspiration when we work with the board artists, and it grows more and more with the animation."

"Let's be honest," Josh Gad interrupted. "This speaks to all of us that grew up in the '80s.

"I've been desperately trying to make sure Jonathan never got a song because I knew this moment would happen where he would steal the movie if he did, and I'm not gonna lie, it's exactly my worst nightmare coming true."

Meanwhile, both Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff admitted that 'Into the Unknown' is their new Frozen karaoke song.

"It's gonna be 'Into the Unknown', all day, every day," Groff explained.

"Idina and Panic! At the Disco have both ruined it because I don't think I could ever hit those notes," Gad joked.

Frozen 2 is released in cinemas on November 22.
