According to Marca, Luis Suarez will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract in June and Inter have made contact with the striker’s agent ahead of a possible free transfer in the summer.
Suarez joined Atletico Madrid on a free transfer from Barcelona in 2020 after a collapsed move to Juventus. The 35-year-old has scored 32 goals in 73 appearances with the La Liga giants but has decided to leave the club at the end of his contract on June 30.
According to Marca, several clubs have already made contact with the player’s entourage, including Inter. The Nerazzurri will be looking for at least one new centre forward in 2022-23 and both he and Gianluca Scamacca are on Beppe Marotta’s agenda.
Sevilla and Ajax have also been linked with signing the Uruguay international as a free agent at the end of the season. According to the report, Suarez wants to continue playing at a high level also in the final years of his career. The former Liverpool star has scored 174 goals in 248 La Liga appearances with Atletico and Barcelona.
