Before the knockout phase of the 2022 FIDE Grand Prix's third leg in Berlin even started, the fight for the FIDE Candidates tournament was decided today: GMs Hikaru Nakamura and GM Richard Rapport made it.

Winning his third game in a row, Nakamura ended up as the winner of Group A and secured at least 20 Grand Prix points in total, the same amount as Rapport currently has. After today, no other player can reach that amount anymore.

A full report will be posted soon.
